HydraTagHydraTag app privacy policy
Effective September 27, 2026
This policy describes the HydraTag Android water-tracking app, provided by HydraTag. It explains how the app handles information. Purchases, support messages, and browsing our website are separate from the app's local water-tracking features; see our website privacy policy for those activities.
Information on your phone
HydraTag stores the water amounts and times you log, your daily goal, preferred units, quick-add amounts, reminder choices, appearance and silhouette preferences, and an optional name. It also stores Daily Drop notification choices and local scheduling records used to avoid scheduling the same dated fact twice. It also stores sticker identifiers used for logging and pending tap records until they can be saved. The app uses these records to show progress and history, record drinks, and schedule reminders.
These records stay in the app's local storage. This version has no account or cloud synchronization, does not upload your water history to a HydraTag server, and does not send analytics events. It does not request access to your location, contacts, microphone, or camera. HydraTag does not provide a separate encrypted database; access is subject to your phone's operating-system protections.
NFC stickers and website links
NFC is optional. With a compatible phone and sticker, the app reads or writes a HydraTag link containing a sticker identifier and a water amount. The sticker does not measure water and does not contain your name or water history. Other nearby NFC readers can read the sticker link, so it should not contain secrets.
If your phone opens a sticker link in a browser instead of the app, the website and hosting providers receive a web request that includes the URL and network information such as your IP address. Website privacy practices apply to those requests.
Daily Drop includes optional links to the original sources. If you open a source link, your browser connects to that external website, whose providers receive normal web-request information such as your IP address. The external website's privacy practices apply. Opening a source does not send it your water history or optional name.
Local notifications
With your permission, the app schedules hydration reminders and optional Daily Drop notifications locally. Daily Drop facts are bundled with the app. The app stores your notification choices and local scheduling records used to avoid scheduling the same dated fact twice. It does not register a push token or use a remote push service for these notifications. Change or disable notifications in the app or your phone's notification settings.
On Android, you can enable a silent daily water progress notification. It shows your logged amount against your saved goal. To refresh it when the app is closed or the local day changes, HydraTag keeps a local notification copy of drink amounts and timestamps, your goal, and your display units. This copy stays on the phone, follows changes to your water history, and is cleared when you turn off the progress notification. No push token or remote push service is used. Notification visibility, including the lock screen, is controlled by your phone settings.
Retention and deletion
Your history stays on this phone until you remove it. In Settings, you can clear today's drinks or delete all water history. Deleting all history also deletes pending sticker logs; your preferences remain. Uninstalling the Android app removes its local app data. App-managed cloud backup or restore is not provided, and Android app backup is disabled.
Contact and changes
For questions about this policy or your information, contact support@hydra-tag.com. Information you send in a support message is handled to respond to your request, outside the app's local storage. If app data practices change, this page will be updated with a new effective date.
